Glasgow Young Curlers

Glasgow Young Curlers was re-established on the 27th of September 2019 when Braehead Young Curlers and Braehead Rockers (who were both based at Braehead Curling Rink) amalgamated and became GYCC. The amalgamation happened in what would have been the original clubs 50th anniversary. To celebrate the re-established club, members from the original Glasgow Young Curling Club (some very familiar faces in the photographs) along with the “new’ Young Curlers got together and had a friendly bonspiel.

Unfortunately, that season we were told that Braehead was closing, and we would have to find a new home. We are delighted to say that Greenacres Curling Club agreed to let us practise and play all our fixtures at their Club until new a new Glasgow Ice facility is available.

Glasgow Young Curlers welcomes all ages of young curlers from 8 years old - 21years as well as all levels of curlers. So, whether you are a complete beginner or have been playing for several years please feel free to come along and join us. We practise most Sunday morning at 9:45am - 11:45am.

Our club is run by its members - you will find that most Committee members are all from the junior club helped by one or two adults - all major decisions are made by the juniors themselves. It is a club run by juniors for juniors.

Committee:

President: Dominic Ferrie
Vice President: Seona Crawford
Secretary: Blair Mackenzie

If you would like to come and join us, please email us at: glasgowyoungcurlers@gmail.com or check us out on Facebook @GYCCCurling
