On Monday the last games in the Curlew Trophy took place with the winners being decided on the last stones of the games.
Beresford Ladies, Dumbreck Ladies and Uplawmoor were all tied on points with just ends separating them going into the last round of games. Beresford ladies played Ayr Ladies and Dumbreck Ladies played Uplawmoor. Maxwell Ladies having already finished all of their games came along to watch what ended up being a thrilling end to this years competition.
int the game between Ayr Ladies and Beresford Ladies, Beresford Ladies overcame Ayr's 8-1 lead with a 6 in the 6th end and then a steal of 1 in the 7th to peel the game.
In the game between Uplawmoor and Dumbreck Ladies, Uplawmoor had a 5 shot lead after 3 ends. Dumbreck then came back to lead 6-5 after 6 ends. Uplawmoor were lying 1 with last stone still to come but unfortunately the called shot didn't come off leading to another peeled game.
Both games having been peeled that meant there was still a tie on points between Beresford Ladies, Dumbreck Ladies and Uplawmoor. While the ladies enjoyed a complimentary light lunch the scores were recorded and the standings updated.
With only 2 ends separating 1st and 3rd, Beresford Ladies took the title this year.
